Buttermilk pie with a little southern style

I love a little comfort food well let me re-phrase that I LOVE comfort food and that is a big down fall of mine. Of course I have never met a person who did not love it, so when I crave those grill cheese sandwiches, mac and cheese, or good old tomato soup I have to add dessert to that right? I came across this recipe about a year ago because I had buttermilk in my fridge and had no idea what to use it in. So I looked up buttermilk desserts and came across this amazing dish. Honestly you can do so much to this dish by adding toppings to it or not. I have tried it without toppings and with toppings it is always a hit at gatherings. I love telling people what is for dessert buttermilk pie they look at me with this odd look on their face like is she serious?  Then when they eat it they tell me they had to keep licking the spoon cause it was so delicious. trust me when you make this you will to.

Ingredients  1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup Bisquick mix

1/3 cup butter melted

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3 eggs at room temperature

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, grease a 9 inch pie pan.

Put all ingredients in a bowl and blend for 1 minute with a handheld electric mixer. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes.
